Jamie McPhee a recent GSA graduate explores the slow demise of Peterhead, one of Europe’s largest whitefish fishing Port’s. McPhee says of his work ““The Blue Toon” has seen many changes in the fishing industry, from the rise and fall of whaling in the late 18th Century, to the boom of herring fishing in the mid 19th Century. Currently ‘Overfishing’ and EU Fishing regulations are having a massive impact on the community. My images aim to capture the changing landscape as it faces what could be argued as its biggest challenge yet.”
