Mieke Meijer, a graduate student from the Design Academy Eindhoven, Netherlands, and a member of the Vij5 collective has created this Newspaper Wood by gluing the papers together and then cutting or sanding them. Featured at the Ventura Lambrate 2011, the Newspaper Wood project turns around the paper-making process, transforming paper into wood. “The layers of paper appear like lines of a wood grain and the rings of a tree just like genuine wood when it is cut”.
